Brazil’s Casino Looks For Support From Evangelical Christian Legislators
In recent times, there have been lots of talks about Brazil’s casino legalization and the fact that several big operators want to have a stake in the untapped Brazil market. For example, Sheldon Adelson, the owner of Las Vegas Sands has voiced his desire to station a casino in Brazil, and he has even met with officials to discuss the possibilities of it. Adelson said that Sands is looking to spend close to $15bn two outlets in Brazil.
It would seem that Brazil’s casino legalization efforts may have found its support and anchor from an unlikely source. The Christian Legislators have become a beacon of hope for Brazil’s casino legalization, and it would seem they don’t even mind if their flocks put their money where their mouth is.
Presidential Move
Brazil’s President, Jair Bolsonaro, recently had a meeting with members of the federal Chamber of Deputies. The members of the chambers urged him to move forward with the plan to authorize casino gambling.
However, Bolsanaro states that although he doesn’t believe in passing the bill, he feels that each state should make the ultimate decision whether or not they want a casino.
Meanwhile, Bolsanaro told the Central deputies that he has completely closed the door on casino authorization. He appeared to have green-lighted the bill, having given the chamber’s significant evangelical bloc a veto.
The Brazilian government has been making conscious efforts to curate regulations to manage sports betting. This is after Brazil’s former president signed a betting legislation into law more than 12 months.
