Osaka Assembles 7-Person Committee To Pick IR Partner
A seven-person committee has been selected by the city of Osaka so as to pick a private sector IR partner. In Japan, an integrated resort is used to denote significant casino projects with accompanying infrastructures like malls, restaurants, shopping centers, hotels, entertainment facilities, hotel, and lots more.
The seven-person committee is made of experts from both behavioral and financial fields. The team will include financial auditing experts from large companies, as well as experts in problematic gambling behavior.
The search for the private IR partner is already underway, and Osaka metropolis hopes to pick a private sector partner by the second quarter of 2020.
The Team
The Chairperson of the committee is Yoshiki Nishizawa. He is the director or the University Public Corporation Osakam Hiroshi Mizobata is the Vice-Chairperson of the committee. He is the head of the Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau. Other members of the committee are senior government officials.
The Osaka authorities have made it clear that they will announce their request-of-proposal requirements before the end of 2019. The entire process will assist the Osaka authorities in the selection process.
Some of the big names still tied to the process include; the Japan unit of Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd; U.S.-based MGM Resorts International and Japanese financial services group Orix Corp; and Genting Singapore Ltd, a unit of Malaysian-based Genting group and
Other big-time operators like Wynn Resorts Ltd, and Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd have since dropped out of the process
