Sports betting breathes life into Indiana Casino
Business is moving forward and booming at an Indiana casino following the legalization of sports betting. The arrival of Super Bowl 54 was a huge welcome to the industry. The approval of sports betting is a welcomed development for sports fanatics and game lovers. Super Bowl 54 is the first major sporting event since Indiana legalized sports betting at the end of last year.
The mega sporting event brought in lots of wagers. The Blue Chip Casino was full of people placing various bets on the game.
The big game has increased traffic to the casino floor, and on one of the biggest nights in sports, the business boost is on full flow.
“This was the first opportunity our customers will be able to watch the big game set here at Blue Chip, so it’s a big deal for us,” said Brenda Temple, Vice President of Blue Chip Casino.
A New Beginning
Super Bowl 54 is the first major event since Indiana legalized sports betting. Blue Chip Casino opened a sportsbook almost immediately after the announcement. The casino says the sportsbook has been great for business, as more and more customers flock into the casino floor daily.
“We see a different clientele a lot of customers from Michigan,” said Temple. “They don’t have legalized betting there, it’s been approved but there’s not anyone local that does it, so they’re coming down here to Indiana.”
The sportsbooks were packed for the super bowl. Punters could bet on anything from the final score, to who will win the coin toss, and so on. People came in from far and wide just to bet on the game at the casino.
“We’ve seen a lot of overflow into our casino, so it’s been a perfect partner for us,” said Temple.
The Blue Chip casino is one of the few casinos in the state that offers sports betting.
