A soft reopening for some parts of Paradise City is in jeopardy following a recent wave of Covid-19. Paradise City a resort at Incheon, South Korea has cancelled its long awaited reopening. Recent increase in Covid-19 cases in Incheon, and surrounding areas like Seoul led to cancellation.
In a conversation with officers at Paradise City, the decision concerning the reopening will be discussed next week. As it stands, there is no date for the reopening of the non-gaming facilities at Paradise City.
The government announced an increase in the Covid-19 cases at Seoul and Incheon, which means the casino had to shut its door.
A source said the company is already drafting plans for a new date, albeit it will wait for the government directives to proceed. A rep of the Paradise Co Ltd, which also has roots in Paradise Walkerhill casino hotel in Seoul, said the company has already scheduled a meeting to discuss its next move.
In a publication on its Website last week, Paradise City announced that South Korean quarantine authorities informed the company that one of the resident guest in the hotel had tested positive for Covid-19. The person in question was a guest at the hotel for four days.
The website further clarified that the authorities gave the facility the green light to carry its operation citing that the hotel took the necessary precaution and safety measures.
Last week, a representative from Paradise City mentioned that the identified case of covid-19, did not affect casino operations. Paradise City non-gaming facilities are only open to foreigners, and because the patient was a local, he was not allowed into the gaming facilities.
As at the time of this report, South Korea had registered 1,316 new cases of coronavirus, a new daily record since the virus was first recorded in South Korea. The numbers recorded on Friday, took the total count to 165,344. Total death recorded was around 2,000.
